Learning is applicable to/for everybody.
CULTUREThese photos were taken during our first presentation, February 8, 2020, wherein the SEA-Teachers from the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand were ask to 8present about our country and our university.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALSSustainable Development Goals (SDGs) awareness is highly encouraged among the students of Sakado Senior High School. This is why the school asked us to present our countries' strengths among all the SDGs that we all purpose to achieve by the end of 2030. Also, this is one of the way to show that we need each other to promote and achieve these goals as our countries' have different SDG focus. As for the Phiippines, we have presented number 4 which focuses on Quality Education and number 5, Gender Equality.

PROCEDURES OF TEACHING
LESSON PLAN CHECKING AND REFLECTION MEETINGFor an effective teaching lesson, consultation is very important. Changes and improvements are needed to further develop our skills with regards to how we can inculcate learning in the classroom. After every teaching class, a reflection meeting is also conducted to show the good points of the lesson and the needed methods to a more fruitful discussion and learning in class.
ACTUAL CLASSROOM TEACHING
Every class starts with greeting which is the routinary activity of the students and before the actual lesson, there is checking of attendance. *Attendance is very important.
After the routinary activity, it is good to do a review of the previous lesson that has been discussed and then provide a motivational activity or video presentation that will lead them to understand the upcoming topics to be discussed.
Next is the lesson proper wherein the topic is officially introduced as well as the subtopics that are tackled within the lesson. Afterwards or during the discussion, questions are always welcome. Generalization is also present for the learners to remember the topic.
Lastly, application of the students learning should be seen and that is where an activity is inserted so that the teacher could see how well the students have learned as they can apply it in their lives.
TIME MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZING ACTIVITIES
Time management is very important in Japan as Japanese people are very punctual in starting and finishing the time.
Most of the time, we manage our time through the help of I-Plan. The time allotted for every session helped us throughout the whole teaching time. On our first time, we finished earlier than the expected time, so, our supervisor gave us an alternative way on how to consume the remaining time so that we can maximize learning among our students. We organized and modified our lesson plan ahead of time and discussed where do we need to do the adjustment, and through this, our stay at UTSS became successful.
PROBLEM-SOLVING
PROBLEMS
-Language Barrier
-Cost of Living
SOLUTIONS
-Use basic English words only
-Manage allowance and avoid unnecessary expenses
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
Managing the class was not a problem because the students of UTSS are disciplined, respectful and responsible. The only thing I noticed among the students is that they have a habit of giggling when one their friends are ask to answer questions or say their opinion and we were careful in allowing their friends to stop teasing them so that they can answer properly.
We have been assigned to 2nd-Grade students who are taking up a mandatory subject which is Social Studies. The same topic was tackled in four different sections but because of the different kinds of students and their level of understanding is different from each other, different attacks on lesson should provided in every. 2D-class has the highest number of students who is able to understand English easily and that is why it was easy for us deliver the concept of the lesson to them. 2B was the class that is less active students according to their Home Room Teacher, but as we discussed the lesson with them, they exceeded our expectation because they were very participative during the class. 2C was the most active among the four sections that we have taught regarding the topic of global warming. They asked questions so that they can further understand the lesson. 2A was less active than the three sections we have taught, but they have higher level of thinking skills as they displayed solutions for environmental problems which are different from what we usually hear. As we have different sections to handle, I was able to give different and more concrete examples in every class that we have to handle because I also believe that being an effective teacher requires us to develop examples that will help our students better understand what we are trying to teach them.
As UTSS is an integrated school, they also have elective classes. We were also given the chance to discuss about ethics. As the scope of this topic is very wide, we discussed only two topics which are ETHICAL HUMAN BEHAVIOR and KOHLBERG'S MORAL DEVELOPMENT THEORY. We have been given two hours for this topic and we have seen how students were interested to listen to the topic. This class was not only to give them understanding about these lessons; they were also given a dilemma were their morality, critical thinking and higher order thinking skills were tested. The students were divided into three groups and as they presented their answers, we were glad to see that these three groups has different answers. It gave us the opportunity to balance and differentiate the answers of the learners.

GALLERY WALK
Teachers are not only limited within the four corners of the classroom. This why through the TAG-AIMS program. We, the SEA-Teachers were able to see a different role that we can play as future educators. For the final presentation of these students, the SEA-Teachers were assigned to facilitate this program. With the help and guidance of Dr. Nomura and other staffs, we were able to pull off a successful activity which is called the Gallery Walk.
FINAL PRESENTATIONPhotos were taken during our Final Presentation at CRICED inside the University of Tsukuba as a summary of our SEA-Teacher experience Pilot Batch in Japan.
